The Council Shop | Fore Goods is celebrating the grand opening of its newest Los Angeles thrift store and donation center in North Hollywood on Friday, Oct. 2, with complimentary professional styling for shoppers.
Veteran TV and film celebrity stylist Nina De Palma, whose credits include Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Inception, Captain America and others, will be on site from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. helping shoppers put together looks from secondhand finds. Styling is free, with sign-ups available at the store that day.
The new North Hollywood location is the eighth store operated by Fore Women, formerly National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles. The nonprofit has operated its Council Shop thrift stores in Los Angeles since 1925 and is transitioning the stores to the Fore Goods name.
Every purchase and donation helps support Fore Women’s programs for women and families across Los Angeles. The North Hollywood store will also serve as a hands-on training site for Career MOMentum, Fore Women’s workforce development program, where women can gain real-world retail experience along with career coaching and employment support.
The celebration begins with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m. Shoppers can browse the new store, meet Nina, and sign up for a complimentary styling session through 3 p.m.
